Novarina’s language is not only neological : it is a veritable cascade that carries along in its organic and literary wake and flux, the body, narration, intimate or collective. Perhaps it is better to say that she is at one with her language, the way that food sculpts the shape of the mouth. It is indeed the words that give shape to the « rounded muscles that close our tube » as she says. If one is to believe her Letter to the actors, the first question that the spectator must ask himself when faced with the stage inhabited by Novarina’s creatures, is not « What are they saying » ?, but indeed « What are they eating ? Are they eating each other ? » Valère Novarina, he « who pumps, makes it all move around », is at the heart of our season in more ways than one. Three of his works are programmed, amongst them, Pour Louis de Funès , which has become a classic. All year long, various performances, readings etc. will address the many aspect’s of his work. Playwright and poet, he is presently working on a piece titled « Le Vrai Sang/True Blood » ; director, and painter, he will direct the world première at the Odeon theater, along with his faithful cast and collaborators.
